Picked up Body + Soul magazine today (yes, I still pay for items printed on paper) to read an article on the “30 Best Herbs for Your Health!” and who do I see listed as the authors? My mentor Rosemary Gladstar, whose advanced program I’m currently enjoying thoroughly, and Tania Hannan, one of my fellow students. Turns out she’s an associate editor for the magazine.
It’s a great article, and wouldn’t you know it, I have all of the herbs listed here in store! I strongly recommend folks picking the magazine up, the article has some good basic info.
In other news, Mother Earth News to be specific, is another article I’m happy to see, “Homegrown Medicine: Explore the many benefits of planting medicinal herbs.” They include a list of 30 herbs as well, though I’m missing two on this list (Grindelia isn’t really used all that often, and pipsissewa is nearing endangerment, and both have more common substitutions that I use), and they make note of plants that are at-risk according to United Plant Savers.
I’ll have the articles on hand at the shop if you don’t want to buy the magazines; good info to keep on hand!
